Lesson 5 (Week 6): Juxtaposition

Definition (http://dictionary.reference.com/)

1. The act or instance of placing close together or side by side, especially for comparison and contrast
2. The state of being close together or side by side

Juxtaposition is famous in film as well as in photography.

Here’re some examples of juxtaposition in photography:

A hot young model and an old man – Like it or not, though you may be young and hot now, someday somehow you will definitely be old.

A car and a bicycle – Modern transportation versus the old one. Though many may prefer car as a transportation nowadays, bicycle still stays solid as affordable, light-weight and green transportation ever.

Ruins of an old building and new modern buildings in the city – They might be ruins but they are still the most valuable thing in a country’s history.

A man and a woman – An old photograph of man and woman of the olden days where man was the one who have to go to work and make money where else woman would be the housewife, taking care of all the house chores (taking care of kids, husband, etc).

LIFE - BURNING FIRE
Life is like burning fire. It is full of dramas!

Lesson 4 (Week 5): Associated Mind Map

Sometimes something doesn't really have to perfectly related to something in particular. Relationship of something to another can just be something logical like when you think of a cow, of course you will think of milk, after that could be cheese or any dairy products but have you ever think that in relation to cow, there should be the word 'smelly' and this could be further branched to poo or something else and so on.

Here I attached some pictures:

Here’s a link about how to create a mind map.

A quick and easy way on how to create a mind map. Most importantly how colors play an important role in creating a mind map.

Lesson 3 (Week 4): Mind Map [Feedback]

A simple mind map I made about myself. I used different colored markers to indicate different areas about me. The name ‘SYAH’ in the middle is a name that I am known among my circle of friends and it is in red because it resembles how I am in real life and it is one of my favorite color too!

Lesson 1 (Week 2): Defining Creativity

I found this to be very amazing. I wonder how they had done it but job well done! Imagine how much patience they have to put in to make all this work.

Pictures above are mainly produced/craved by Mizuta Tasogare and Kato Jado. They said that because they have to make link after link, without breaking through very thin wood walls and with the graphite still intact within the pencil are tremendously difficult.

They must have a very strong will power and a lot of patience to do this!

Lesson 1 (Week 2): Defining Creativity [Feedback]

Creativity can be defined as generating new ideas or simply altering the old ones to make it more efficient to society. Lecturer had shown a lot of examples regarding how creativity could be achieved. What I learned is that you do not have to be a genius to be a creative person. It will always come naturally. You just basically need to explore more on the idea you have on your head.

Here is an image that I have created for my friend, Tan Zisheng.

I chose this serious picture of him because in actual fact, he is not a very serious guy at all. I smudged his face all over to get the look of an alien. He is a very nice and friendly person and loves to make people all around him laugh even those he barely know. I hope I was not too harsh making his face looked like this.
